Education and empowerment. These two words are essential components of CFF’s mission. They also motivated CFF Board Member and Singapore American School (SAS) senior Victoria Radke to not only serve, but to inspire service. In 2015, Victoria established a CFF high school club at SAS, empowering other motivated and passionate students to actively participate in CFF’s work.
With over thirty active members, CFF’s SAS club contributes to education in Cambodia and mentors CFF scholars through two-subcommittees. The Fundraising Committee plans and organises fundraisers, with the goal of raising enough money to buy twenty-five bicycles for Cambodian students by the end of December 2015. The Interactive Committee maintains a personal connection between SAS students and CFF scholars via a blog. This mutually-beneficial platform allows CFF’s Cambodian students to write about their sustainable service projects and schooling in English; gives SAS students real-world opportunities to provide English language education and project mentoring; and provides all students with authentic multi-cultural experiences.
